Community and partners

The Australian Government and Western Sydney Airport Co Limited (WSA Co), the Government-owned company that is building the Western Sydney International (Nancy-Bird Walton) Airport, are committed to working with all community members and partners throughout the construction process and as the airport becomes operational.

Both the Government and WSA Co will work with the Western Sydney community and project partners to:

  • engage with the community and industry stakeholders in a variety of ways to ensure they are consulted throughout the construction process
  • inform the community of current activities and next steps in the process
  • provide accessible and reliable information about the project.

The Forum On Western Sydney Airport (FOWSA) links the community and stakeholders with the Australian Government and the Western Sydney Airport Co Limited (WSA Co).

Flight path planning for single runway operations is underway. A draft Environmental Impact Statement (EIS), including details of the preliminary flight paths, was released on 24 October 2023. People have until 31 January 2024 to make a submission. The draft EIS examines the noise, social and environmental impacts of the proposed flight paths.

Visit the new WSI airspace and flight path design Online Community Portal (www.WSIflightpaths.gov.au) to find out more about the preliminary flight paths, view the digital draft EIS, make a submission and for information on community information events.
