A 21st-century airport for Western Sydney
The new Western Sydney International (Nancy-Bird Walton) Airport (WSI) will be a state-of-the-art piece of infrastructure, planned and designed with 21st-century thinking.
With Sydney's aviation demand set to double over the next 20 years, the airport will help Sydney to meet this demand and provide a source of jobs and economic growth for the region.
The airport is a large, complex project with a significant construction task. A number of environmental conditions were identified as part of the completing the Environment Impact Statement. These will be met throughout the project's construction and operations and are outlined in the Airport Plan. Detailed work on the airspace and flight path design and biodiversity and conservation be is being undertaken during this period.
