Rail within the airport site

The Australian Government is preparing for a rail line within the Western Sydney Airport Site by safeguarding space for future stations and preserving a rail corridor to the site. This corridor can cater for up to two independent rail lines (four lines of track).

Western Sydney Airport will be rail ready when it opens in 2026.

Rail to Western Sydney Airport

Identifying rail corridors connecting Western Sydney, while also improving connectivity to the Central and Eastern Sydney CBDs, will deliver a cohesive rail network for residents, reducing congestion in Greater Sydney and supporting the Government's vision for a 30-minute city.
