TransGrid line relocation

Looking after Sydney’s electricity

A 3.2 kilometre section of a high voltage powerline currently crosses the Western Sydney Airport site. These lines will to be relocated by TransGrid to allow earthmoving works to take place at the site and for the airport to operate.

TransGrid manages and operates the NSW transmission network, including the high-voltage powerlines that transect the site. The transmission line will be relocateed underground, within the boundary of the airport site.

The relocation works will be undertaken in a manner that minimises disruption to the electricity network.
